This issue of the ALS Newsletter marks its 14th year of publication. The Newsletter was started before my time at the Center and will continue long after, I am sure. It is written every quarter with anticipation and some level of trepidation — are we meeting the needs of our readers? We try to provide information related to varied aspects of living with ALS: research, clinical care, events, and education. This edition of the Newsletter represents the community we have strived to develop over the years, both within our Medical Center and beyond our walls. Contributions from patients ("I am Living with ALS"), sponsor agencies (MDA /ALS Local ALS Artist Exhibit), and consultants ("Ask the Attorney") represent the network of resources that remind us there are hope and opportunities while living with ALS. It is an amazing communion of selflessness that feeds the energy of the contributors to this Newsletter and makes the Newsletter what it is. I am sure you will agree after reading on.
