Research
Columbia University conducts a broad range of research on neuromuscular disorders, including PLS. This research is aimed at developing techniques to diagnose, treat, and ultimately cure and prevent these diseases. The department is actively involved in clinical trials and other research studies to further advance our knowledge of motor neuron disease.
Columbia University Motor Neuron Disease Clinic
The motor neuron disease clinic at the Neurological Institute, Columbia University is dedicated to care for all patients with motor neuron disease. It serves patients from New York, but also from across the United States and around the world. Our comprehensive team is supported by the Muscular Dystrophy Association, and includes a neuromuscular nurse, speech therapist, physical therapist, respiratory therapist, and research assistants to help thoroughly evaluate all patients and provide effective interventions.
